Off the Shoulder Tops and Tweed Breeks

I wanted to create a top that would work with my wool trousers: a top that would enhance the casual comfort and wearability of my tweed pants and create an outfit that was flattering, feminine and stylish.

Using the basis of a dress design that I made a few years ago, I kept the off shoulder neckline, the empire waistline and flared skirt, adding a stiff wide hem, exaggerated sleeves and a zip all the way down the back.

And because I like mixing tweed with Liberty prints, this Liberty cotton poplin version is a wee bit toned down in shape: slightly shorter, the skirt not so flared and the sleeves not so wide but big and bold in colour and print.

Not sure which style I prefer but, I think, both tops make wearing tweed breeks a wee bit more glamorous and just that little bit more special when you add this wonderful necklace 'Nature' by The Jewelry Story.
